Whelen Inner-Edge Lightbars
The Inner Edge is one of Whelen's interior lightbars designed mainly for law enforcement vehicles. These lights are fitted to the inside of the front and rear windscreens. The product is available in two versions, these being the TIR and LIN series LEDs. The difference between the two is the type of optics the light heads have. TIR series light heads have a collimating lens over the LED diode to concentrate the light beam, and then a diffuser lens to spread the light output. TIR light heads have a different kind of optical system altogether. The company has developed a very clever patented lens system which gives much more light output “off axis”, so you get a wider spread of light to the sides of the unit.
